🥇 Navigating Training Camp Hype
As teams report for training camp this week, the hype is hitting all time highs
Happy Friday!
Training camps are alive and well. The social feeds are full of hype material to last me MONTHS, and we are just getting started.
Reminder - not every hype piece we hear in the coming weeks is going to translate into the season. The Jaguars had us fooled thinking Calvin Ridley would be a WR last year, and the Rams still deserve all the shame in the world for the “return of Allen Robinson” a few summers ago. Be careful out there.
Also, please let me know if you’d like to see anything else in these newsletters. I try to keep the entire thing short but I don’t mind adding more if it helps the reader. Feel free to reply with any requests or questions!
Now, let’s win these drafts.

🏷️ This Week’s Draft Values
Every week I’ll highlight draft values found in draft rooms, primarily using my Abusing Draft Rankings tool to help find these players.
Obviously right now it’s too early to take advantage of these values, unless you’re drafting this weekend! It’s still a massive benefit to keep an eye on both ADP trends (listed in the next section) and consistent discrepancies between ADP and expert ranks.
WR Jaylen Waddle – ESPN & Sleeper
Draft room rank: 35-39 | Expert rank: 24
Jaylen Waddle is experiencing some heavy discounts right now in draft rooms and I’m buying it all up. Waddle had a weak 2023 season but still posted over 1,000 yards. His TDs will regress to a higher amount this season and make him incredibly relevant on a high powered offense. I expect Waddle to make his way into the late second round of drafts - so if you’re drafting now, take advantage.
WR Amari Cooper – ESPN & Sleeper
Draft room rank: 57-68 | Expert rank: 42
Cooper has been mentioned already in this section but I wasnt to re-iterate how much of a value he currently is and how that hasn’t changed, specifically on ESPN. Initially I thought it was a contract thing holding his ADP back but he just recently restructured for a solid bonus that he’s happy with. He’s appearing in draft rooms as a WR3 (???) and I’m having a hard time avoiding that price for Cooper. This price will jump as training camp continues, so if you’re drafting now take advantage.
Returning Values
SF WRs Brandon Aiyuk & Deebo Samuel - ESPN
IND WR Michael Pittman - Sleeper & Yahoo
