🥇 NFL scoring is feeling rare this season

At this rate, I'll put myself on IR

Happy Thursday!

A fun fact that isn’t all that fun for fantasy football: This week, 25 NFL teams put up 21 points or less. This is the highest number of teams to do so in a single NFL week ever.

So if you felt like your fantasy squad was underperforming this past week, the whole league was.

Let’s talk some fantasy football.

📰 What the heck happened this week?

  • David Montgomery expected to miss ‘multiple weeks’

    • NO. This one hurts. The Lions have their by week in week 9 and I fully expect Montgomery to be out until the team returns.

  • Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel could both be game time decisions

    • PLEASE. I’m going into the week expecting them not to play. So if you have either of them on your rosters, please prepare for them to be out.

  • Anthony Richardson to have season-ending surgery

    • NO. What looked to be a promising season for Richardson’s rookie season, is now cut short with a shoulder injury. I’m hurt, I’m broken, and I am now looking forward to next season.

👀 Week Six Takeaways

🐦 It’s time to avoid the Ravens backfield
In week 6 we saw Gus Edwards play 63% of offensive snaps, flip-flopping snap share with Justice Hill compared to last week. Both players had 6 point fantasy performances and I think I’m officially out on giving this backfield any fantasy thoughts… until Keaton Mitchell arrives.

✈️ I’m in on the Atlanta Falcons passing game
QB Desmond Ridder was just the QB6 in a game where he had THREE INTERCEPTIONS. This team could be playing from behind for a large portion of their remaining games, and that has proved to be very valuable for Ridder, Drake London, Kyle Pitts and Jonnu Smith moving forward.

👴 Adam Thielen is a PPR stud
Currently the WR3 in PPR, Adam Thielen now has 4 games with 20+ fantasy points. Certainly a dynasty buy if you’re a contender this season. He’s consistently getting double digit targets in an offense that is playing from behind a lot. A recipe for a fantasy goldmine.

📊 Week Seven Rankings Highlights

Every week here I’ll highlight a few players I may be ranking higher than other experts, or some players I’m just excited to see play this upcoming week.

Feel free to check out my full weekly rankings at the link below!

🦁 Jahmyr Gibbs - RB14
Gibbs could very well be the only healthy RB in this backfield this week, and even he is coming off an injury. This is a heavily asterisked “if he plays” type of ranking because he’s still questionable, but with David Montgomery out for a few weeks and Craig Reynolds not practicing we may finally see heavy usage of Gibbs.

🌻 Zay Flowers - WR15
Flowers was the WR14 this past week and gets another solid matchup this week against the Lions. I’m pretty high on Flowers rest-of-season and I especially feel good about his matchup this week (see Boom/Busts)

💥 Week Seven Booms and Busts 👎

Start your studs.

That being said, let’s highlight some players I’m expecting some big weeks from and a few I’m pretty low on. This isn’t necessarily a start/sit column, but more so some players I expect a bigger week from and some players I’m not excited about.

💥 RB Brian Robinson, Commanders (vs. Giants)
The Giants have allowed 13+ fantasy points to six different RBs this season so far and Brian Robinson is next in line. I like Robinson as a solid flex play this week and expect him to find the end zone again this week.

👎 RB Alexander Mattison, Vikings (vs. 49ers)
A combination of an expected negative game script for the Vikings and one of the toughest rush defenses does not give me a lot of hope for Mattison this week.

💥 WR Zay Flowers, Ravens (vs. Lions)
Flowers was here last week and I expect him to be here again this week. he caught his first TD this past week against the Titans and now has four games this season with 8+ targets.

👎 WR Courtland Sutton, Broncos (vs. Packers)
The Green Bay Packers get Jaire Alexander back in the lineup to stop this Broncos passing attack, as if it really needed to be slowed down. This Broncos offense does not excite me this week and I’d even add Jerry Jeudy to this sit spot as well.

Thank you for tuning in, let’s get a W this week 🫡
