Happy Friday, happy Week 9, and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Injuries and bye weeks and just overall player performance certainly have this NFL season feeling a bit scarier than usual.

Here’s to hoping your fantasy lineup doesn’t look frightening to you this week.

Yeesh, so Mike McDaniel is on the hot seat, right? The Ravens looked good with Lamar Jackson back under center, but to put up just 6 points on prime time is not a good look to the fan base. Here’s to hoping for many more Jaylen Waddle and De’Von Achane touchdowns in the future, for my own sanity.

Bal Ravens 28 @ MIA Dolphins 6

Lamar Jackson: He’s back, baby!!! Lamar didn’t look like he missed a beat at all, with FOUR passing touchdowns and hardly needing to add any volume on the ground (just 14 rushing yards) to give us fantasy managers a 30+ fantasy performance. Welcome back.

Mark Andrews: With Jackson back, Andrews was given clear priority in the red zone. Just three targets and two catches, both of which being touchdowns, Andrews may find himself back in fantasy relevancy. With bye weeks upon us, he’s looking very start-able moving forward.

Derrick Henry: This one almost looked bad, but a 35-yard run in the late third made this look more manageable. 19 carries isn’t anything to ignore, he’s still very much getting the volume in this offense to help stay fantasy relevant. I give it another week of Jackson being back as a rushing threat to help open up some lanes for Henry.

Jaylen Waddle: I believe this 14 point performance is roughly what we can expect from Waddle every week in this offense. The volume exists, second on the team in targets behind Achane (I blame Tua for this) with 9 targets and very much involved in big time moments. He’s a weekly start for consistency’s sake, but I fear there’s not a lot of opportunity for massive points from him. But please, Waddle, prove me wrong.

📄 Streaming Edge

I like to keep an eye on player ownerships as the week goes on. This newsletter sends on Fridays and your weekly waivers have been running since Wednesday so the hot pickups are definitely gone. In this section I’ll highlight potential starters that are still available in over 50% of leagues.

QB Streamer: Trevor Lawrence - 29.5% Ownership - Rank: QB16

The Raiders defense is really the target here, as they are one of fantasy’s friendliest defenses to quarterbacks. Lawrence here has had a solid three weeks leading up to Jacksonville’s bye week (28 points vs KC, 23 points vs SEA, and 19 points vs LAR) and is lined up to continue that stretch here against the Raiders.

Other streaming options: Sam Darnold - QB17

TE Streamer: Theo Johnson - 31.2% Ownership - Rank: TE13

It’s a rough week here in the TE streets with bye weeks and injuries, but Johnson has continued to see usage in the red zone that makes him a relevant streaming option. With the additional injury to Skattebo, the offense is slowly trimming down it’s available target options and Johnson is nearing the top.

Other streaming options: Dalton Schultz - TE14

DST Streamer: SF 49ers - 19.9% Ownership - Rank: DST10

The 49ers defense is banged up, I know they are, but so is the Giants offense. What looked like a threat offensively now enters week 9 a little more deflated, and the 49ers defense has the opportunity to take advantage of that on defense this week.

I feel the need to reiterate that I am looking at ownership of defenses (and players above) on Fridays after teams have already made waiver claims and most likely made their DST pickup - this section is for if you’re in a real scramble to find a starting option. Please review my Week 9 Rankings to see who else I would be starting this week and their potential availability in your leagues.

Thank you for tuning in, let’s win some leagues.
