🥇 Last-Minute Week 5 Fantasy Football Streamers

Still out there in over 50% of leagues - grab these guys before Sunday.

Happy Friday, and happy Week 5!

Welcome to the first week where bye weeks exist, a harsh reminder every year that players don’t play every week. Mix in the injuries that are hitting the league so far and I think it’s impossible to have a team NOT hit with an out player this week.

But that’s the joy of it all, right? It’s where the strategy piece of this beautiful game come in - who to play in replacement and navigating by weeks. Gotta love it.

Let’s win the week.

📝 Thursday Night Takeaways

An overnight game! On a Thursday night! We love to see it!

49ers 26 @ Rams 23

Kyren Williams: BOOM! What a way to start your week than with Kyren Williams kicking it off with a 31 point game. I think this is the type of player we can expect from Williams for the rest of the season - solid 10-15 point performances each week with the occasional 25+ point storm. If this isn’t the type of player you crave on your rosters, I’m not opposed to trading him away after this big performance.

Rams WRs: Puka Nacua is, and will continue to be, the best asset in fantasy football. After a 24.5 point PPR performance last night and having yet to produce a score of less than 20 points this season, he’s looking electric and on pace for all time numbers - gotta love it. Davante Adams is also proving his worth but mostly as a consistent WR2 and you should be happy with him on your rosters because he still performs with Nacua standing out.

Christian McCaffrey: Another week, another 20+ fantasy performance. I’m not sure what evil spells McCaffrey is brewing in order to be the only healthy skill position player in San Francisco, but keep it up, brother.

Kendrick Bourne: This one is tricky. It was a great performance, but a lot of it deals with both Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings out for the game. If we’re looking at waivers I wouldn’t sprint to add Bourne or spend my full FAAB on him, but he’s worth the look if receivers will continue being injured here.

I like to keep an eye on player ownerships as the week goes on. This newsletter sends on Fridays and your weekly waivers have been running since Wednesday so the hot pickups are definitely gone. In this section I’ll highlight potential starters that are still available in over 50% of leagues.

QB Streamer: Jaxson Dart - 41.3% Ownership - Rank: QB13

First, let us say a prayer for Malik Nabers and the fantasy rosters he was once on. Last week, Dart put up a QB11 performance against a solid Chargers defense and only throwing 111 pass yards. This week he gets a weaker (much weaker) Saints defense. Expect the boy to get some solid runs in as well agains this pass rush for the rushing upside and we’ve got a great QB stream.

TE Streamer: Brenton Strange - 38.5% Ownership - Rank: TE10

I think I’m labeling Strange as Mr. Consistent, because there’s a good chance he could be your bye week fill in every week at TE and be just fine. I’ll warn you, Strange is not going to win you the week with his performance, but his performance will be just fine as a replacement. If you’re looking for season-long relief, my votes go to Theo Johnson (4.3% owned) or Mason Taylor (5.5%).

Other TE Options: Theo Johnson

DST Streamer: NO Saints - 2.1% Ownership - Rank: DST7

Okay, hear me out. The Chargers last week picked up SIX sacks against the Giants, five of which were against Dart when he was in. The Saints have a solid pass rush on their side as they are tied for seventh in the league in total sacks. All I’m saying is if you are in a DST crunch this weekend, the Saints are in line for a few sacks and solid DST points.

Thank you for tuning in, let’s win some leagues.
