🥇 Draft Room Movement

See who’s rising, who’s falling, and who’s still a steal.

Happy Friday!

Like every year, training camp begins with a bang. That bang this year, however, was the news of Justin Fields leaving practice yesterday with an “apparent lower leg injury,” which is an insane way to break the news of a dislocated toe when the news first dropped. Thankfully it was just that and Fields is now day-to-day but jeeze, don’t scare us like that.

We had some big draft room movement in ESPN draft rooms for the first time this summer and we can expect some weekly movement there now that teams are practicing. I’ve highlighted the biggest movers below.

Let’s get to draft prepping!

🏷️ First Look Draft Values

Every week I’ll highlight draft values found in draft rooms, primarily using my Abusing Draft Rankings tool to help find these players.

RB Travis Etienne - ESPN

Draft room rank: RB39 | Expert rank: RB31
Landmine Score: 4.0

Is the true back to have in the Jacksonville Jaguars backfield Travis Etienne after all this time? After finishing as the RB3 in 2023, Etienne took a step back last season and finished as the RB35 and then the team drafted an RB in the 4th round to add to the team’s depth. I’m not drafting Etienne to be my starting RB as he has an ADP in the later rounds, but at that point I’m taking upside and Etienne has that in my opinion. With a discounted rank in ESPN rooms, I’m buying.

WR Chris Olave – ESPN

Draft room rank: WR28 | Expert rank: WR38
Landmine Score: 5.2

Olave is becoming a value mainstay for ESPN drafts at this point. In years past we were drafting Olave as our WR1 or 2 in the first few rounds - this year we can draft him in the mid-7th and that feels like a steal. With a new offense (and in my opinion, one that should look a lot more productive), very little target competition and a cheap draft value… I’m taking him.

WR Jakobi Meyers - Yahoo

Draft room rank: WR45 | Expert rank: WR38
Landmine Score: 4.8

Meyers has been at least a WR30 in the past 4 seasons with his best seasonal finish being last season as the WR19. He now enters the 2025 season as the WR1 in Las Vegas with an upgrade at QB in Geno Smith. With a ranking value in Yahoo drafts, I’m in on Meyers.

New for 2025: Landmine Score - It’s a 0-10 scale that rates how risky a player is in your draft room - based on how much earlier they’re ranked on your platform versus expert consensus.

Most players land somewhere in the 5-6 range. A score of 10 means they’re being pushed way up the board and you’re probably walking into a trap. A 0? That’s a straight-up steal.
