🥇 A New Draft Day Cheat Sheet
Drafting this weekend? I've got just the tool for you
Happy Friday!
As the following of this newsletter continues to grow, I wanted to give everyone a reminder: This newsletter will only run for the fantasy football draft season. I am expecting my first child early on in the NFL season and I plan on putting my energy and focus into that. I hope you’ll understand!
I’d also like to highlight that I’ve put together a draft cheat sheet that includes value scores from the Abusing Draft Rankings. You can find that link later in this newsletter. Check it out and tell me what you think!
Now, let’s win these drafts.
In this week’s newsletter:
🏷️ This Week’s Draft Values
📰 Training Camp News
🏥 Injury Recap
📈 Draft Room Trends
📝 Draft Day Cheat Sheet
🥇 WR Rankings
🏷️ This Week’s Draft Values
Every week I’ll highlight draft values found in draft rooms, primarily using my Abusing Draft Rankings tool to help find these players.
Obviously right now it’s too early to take advantage of these values, unless you’re drafting this weekend! It’s still a massive benefit to keep an eye on both ADP trends (listed in the next section) and consistent discrepancies between ADP and expert ranks.
WR Christian Kirk - ESPN
Draft room rank: 76 | Expert rank: 49
I mentioned Kirk last week but I feel like the value Kirk is seeing on ESPN is too juicy to pass up on. FantasyPros ECR has Christian Kirk as the WR26 while ESPN draft rooms have him as the WR35. This is a steep discount on a mid-draft WR.
WR Josh Palmer – ESPN
Draft room rank: 162 | Expert rank: 125
If you need a late round pick idea on ESPN, look no further than Chargers WR Josh Palmer. Currently ranked on FantasyPros as the WR54, he is appearing in ESPN draft rooms as the WR72 and almost three rounds later than he’s ranked overall. He’s entering a year with wide open opportunity for targets and you can get him at an insane discount.
WR Cooper Kupp – Sleeper
Draft room rank: 40 | Expert rank: 29
I’m noticing that WRs on Sleeper are almost all pushed back up to a full round in comparison to FantasyPros ECR making a chunk of them good values. Kupp, for me, is one that stood out. I may be more in on Kupp than the common man and if I can get him almost a round later than overall rank, I’m taking that all the time.
Top Quarterbacks – ESPN
I want to highlight here that if you are drafting on ESPN, they are the latest of the top draft platforms to show their quarterbacks in the draft room. QB1 Josh Allen appears around pick 42 while on Sleeper he’s at pick 22 and Yahoo has him at 31. I’m not trying to highlight them as values, but more of a draft day heads up to be aware of if you’re targeting them or staying away.
Returning Values
SF WR Deebo Samuel - ESPN & Yahoo
CAR WR Diontae Johnson – Sleeper
IND WR Michael Pittman - Sleeper & Yahoo
CLE WR Amari Cooper - ESPN & Sleeper

📰 Training Camp News
Some weekly updates from training camps. This will not be where you find player hype, but mostly key news out of camps; contracts, starters, trades. You get it. Maybe a fun one once in a while. Let’s look at this week:
Ravens TE Mark Andrews was involved in a car crash. Thankfully is totally fine
Brandon Aiyuk trade update: The Steelers and 49ers reportedly have a deal in place for a trade, but the 49ers have a contract on the table for Aiyuk that is closer to what he’s looking for
🏥 Injury Recap
It feels like this past week saw quite a few notable players pop up on the injury report, so it felt right to highlight them all as well as any ADP changes that came with the news!
Vikings rookie QB JJ McCarthy will be out for the season following a meniscus surgery
Chiefs WR Marquise Brown to miss 4-6 weeks with a shoulder injury (Expected return: Week 2-3)
Giants rookie RB Tyrone Tracy diagnosed with low ankle sprain and is considered week-to-week
Vikings WR Jordan Addison also suffered an ankle injury this week but we’re being told that all will be fine for the season
Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs tweaked his hamstring in practice and will be out for the remainder of preseason. He’s expected to be fine for the start of the season
Jaguars WR Christian Kirk to miss some practice with a mild calf injury. It thankfully doesn’t look too serious
Bengals RB Chris Evans to miss entirety of season with a torn patella tendon (it connects your kneecap to the shin)
WR Chase Claypool has been released by the Bills after a toe injury
